Micah

Judy Xie

Judy is a postdoctoral fellow in the Ziegler Research Group working on Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology change and equitable deployment. She holds a Ph.D. in Climate and Energy Policy from Imperial College London in the UK (2024) and a B.S. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Georgia Tech (2019). Her Ph.D. research focused on quantitative insights into different justice considerations in the energy transition and was supervised by Prof. Joeri Rogelj and Dr. Iain Staffell. She has previously worked on heterogeneous catalysis as an undergrad with Prof. Chris Jones at Tech, biomass conversion at the Paul Scherrer Institute in Switzerland, and DAC sorbent degradation at Global Thermostat (a DAC startup that used to be in the ATDC program). Judy’s current hobbies are painting, film photography, and kickboxing.

Sebastian Turcios

Sebastian is a second-year Chemical engineering student at Georgia Tech. His interests within the industry are energy systems and renewable technologies. Within his free time, Sebastian enjoys reading, playing video games, and watching soccer.

Lisa Taganova

Lisa is a second-year undergraduate student majoring in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. She is interested in energy systems, electrochemistry, and sustainable technology and materials. Outside of academics, she enjoys travel, reading, and pottery.

Meagan Ryley

Meagan is a third year Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering student. Her interests include sustainable energy systems and renewable resources. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, and reading.

Vivian Ritter

Vivian is a second-year undergraduate Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering major, with a minor in Sustainable Cities. She’s interested in sustainable processes and sustainable technology within industry. In her free time, she enjoys crocheting, playing video games, and going thrifting!
